Banishing the winter blues!

What a wintery day! You can hardly believe it's almost the end of March, it has been snowing here almost all day. Still, here I sit with a cup of tea in one hand, a slice of homemade pineapple upside-down cake in the other, listening to the sublime Fair Albion by Patrick Hawes. Such a beautiful piece of music by a fantastic composer who is so inspirational yet very down to earth and friendly. It puts visions of warm summer evenings in my mind (preferably in Florence!!) which helps to banish the snow and cold - for now!!

A wonderful recital!

What a wonderful evening - I went to the Barbican last night for a recital by genius violinist Maxim Vengerov. A superb recital - he is back to his brilliant best! His accompanist Itamar Golan was superb as well. Have already booked tickets for his recital in January 2014...!!
